Belt Splicers & Conveyor Technicians

Conveyor belt specialists install, maintain, and repair conveyor belts in a wide range of industrial environments. They frequently use heavy machinery such as cranes and forklifts to install new belts or replace old ones.

Conveyor belt specialists must be highly technical and knowledgeable about industrial equipment. They must also be able to successfully interact with other members of their team in order to coordinate operations during the installation or repair process.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.

Candidates must be at least a graduate of a four-year undergraduate course.

Trade Qualification in Fixed Plant Mechanical Trade or Certificate 2 in Belt Splicing
Experience working in a mine site, – Work Safety at Heights, Mining Industry Experience
Flexible and cooperative team attitude, – Confined space

Additional Info

Read drawings, work orders and schedule to determine job instructions and specifications.
Examine and measure work for defects to ensure conformance with specifications.
Assist in the installation, maintenance, overhaul and repair of fixed plant and equipment associated with the processes of mining and industry.
Operates machines to manufacture rubber products such as tyres. Specialisations: Rubber Belt Splicer
Suitable level of experience and knowledge in material handling for conveyors and related components, working as a belt splicer.
Detect faulty operation of equipment and / or defective materials or products and notify appropriate supervisors.
Experience in troubleshooting operational issues for conveyors, rigging, operating winches and winders.
